Moto3: Cortese takes home win as the rain dries up at Sachsenring

Sandro Cortese took himself into the record books by winning at his home circuit, the first German to do so since racing returned to the Sachsenring in 1998.

Moto3 provided it’s usual excitement as Cortese took the championship lead, with many of the frontrunners falling late in the race. The race itself had a delayed start as the heavens opened in biblical proportions as the grid formed up.

Masbou was happy with his first podium in second, wile third was greeted by a angry Luis Salom, Jack Miller rode an excellent race in fourth, while Hector Faubel managed a great 7th after starting from pit lane when he stalled on  the grid. Maverick Vinales finished out of the points.
