French team Tech3 announced the latest in a long line of French signings as Louis Rossi is set to join them in Moto2 next season. Herve Poncheral has also previously nurtured the talents of Olivier Jacque, Mike Di Meglio and Sylvian Guintoli.
Rossi is currently enjoying a fairly successful Moto3 campaign at Racing Team Germany with a win at his home grand prix at Le Mans and four top ten finishes in total this season so far.
Poncheral said of the move:
“I am delighted that Louis has decided to commit his future to Tech 3 Racing Moto2 Team. I have monitored him very closely and he is a rider with great potential who I am really looking forward to help take the next step in his career. I am confident the combination of Louis and the Tech 3 Racing’s Mistral 610 project will be a formidable one in 2013 .”
Current Moto2 Tech3 rider Bradley Smith took to twitter to wish his replacement in the team all the best: “Would like to welcome Louis Rossi to Tech 3. Happy that I am going to give him a better Mistral 610 then I when I first arrived”.
Rumoured to be joining the team as Rossi’s team mate, and also maintaining their assocation with British riders, is Danny Kent, currently with Red Bull KTM in Moto3. Tech3 will be fielding a fully British line-up in MotoGP next year when Bradley Smith joins after moving up within the team from Moto2, he joins Cal Crutchlow who after much rumour re-signed for the team.
