Moto2 Mapfre Aspar rider Nico Terol is set to have turn four at his home circuit named after him in a ceremony this coming Sunday, joining his team manager Jorge ‘Aspar’ Martinez and MotoGP legend Mick Doohan by being honoured in this way at the Cheste circuit.

Although he has achieved nowhere near as much as double MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner, who on the eve of his retirement was given the same treatment at his home race in Phillip Island, the reasoning does become a little clearer when you take into consideration his links to the Ricardo Tormo circuit’s ‘Cradle of Champions’ programme and also that being from a local from Valencia they are keen to honour his achievement of being the final 125cc champion.
