Moto2: Espargaro top, crash for Luthi on final day of test

Pol Espargaro maintained his slender lead over Aspar rider Nico Terol, with Julian Simon placing his Italtrans in the top three fastest times, the only racers to dip under 1m 35, though all riders at the test set their fastest test times on day three.

Swiss Interwetten rider Tom Luthi fractured his arm and collarbone in a collision with Gresini’s Ratthapark Wiliarot and will need surgery on his injuries, prior to the crash he had set his best time and was fifth fastest on day three. Wiliarot was treated at the circuit for a head injury.

CEV Moto2 champion Jordi Torres was an impressive fourth fastest for Aspar, the highest placed Brit was Scott Redding in eighth for Marc VDS – Danny Kent was 24th for Tech3 and right behind him was Blusdens Avintia’s Kyle Smith who finished the test 25th fastest.
