After his crash with Ratthapark Wilairot at the end of the Valencia test in February Tom Luthi immediately concentrated on the rehabilitation needed to return to the Moto2 championship by his target of the Jerez GP. he has revealed he is first to undergo more surgery.
Luthi, who recently underwent five hours of surgery at home in Switzerland to fix the fractures received to his right elbow, upper arm and shoulder is hopeful for a return when the paddock arrives in Europe for round three at Jerez in Spain on the 5th May.
The Swiss star has revealed he is to undergo further surgery (scheduled for Monday 4th March) to fix three torn ligaments around his collarbone. Luthi revealed that the operation is not strictly necessary but will speed up the healing of his other injuries, the procedure itself being a much smaller task with virtually no recovery window needed, so should not affect rehabilitation programme which he aims to return to today (Tuesday 5th) or Wednesday at the latest.
