MotoGP: German riders home liveries & helmets at the Sachsenring

12/07/2014

It’s time for round nine of the MotoGP championship and we’re at the Sachsenring, a great excuse for all the Germans in the championship to show their patriotism via their kit and this year they have even more to shout about with the national team doing so well at the World Cup (sorry Brazil!)

Jonas Folger may be off the radar for those interested in MotoGP alone, but he has turned up loud and proud in Moto2, going local for his home race with a Bavarian flag livery, which really stands out as you can see from this tweet by his team!

Just to make sure you can’t miss him while at the Saxon circuit the German has also extended the design onto his Alpinestars leathers too:

Unfortunately riding at home wasn’t particularly fruitful for the home Moto2 riders in qualifying with Folger, who has graced the podium twice this year down in 20th. Hopefully the AGR  rider can move up through the field on race day so his kit can be seen.

Marcel Schrotter fared a little better up in 14th for Tech3 and  he has chosen to have a more subtle, but very beautiful and very German graphic added to the back of his X-Lite helmet by excellent graphic artist Kinicrea.

You can find more examples of his work (he also does the graphics/logos for most of the German riders- including StefanBradl and Jonas Folger) at @KINICREA or Kinicrea.com. Well worth a look.

Here’s his tweet of that design:

So far so quiet from Stefan Bradl, but who knows, he may be saving it for the race!

UPDATE: Here it is – a Bradl world cup special –
